Job Summary
This work will be specific to characterization of human tissues both normal and pathologic in nature to extract physical, chemical and biochemical characteristics. This interdisciplinary project will be in collaboration with Department of Preventive and Restorative Dental Sciences (PRDS), School of Dentistry (SOD), UCSF.
The Lab Assistant will utilize knowledge in biomaterials and various characterization techniques including high resolution light and electron microscopy and spectroscopy techniques.
The salary range for this position is $19.43 - $22.49 (Hourly Rate).
Department Description
Required Qualifications
- High school graduation and one year of laboratory experience, or two years of college, including courses in the natural, physical or social sciences, or an equivalent combination of education/experience and knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in preparing tissue for structural evaluation followed by imaging.
- Prior knowledge in biomaterials and various characterization techniques including high resolution light, electron microscopy and spectroscopy techniques.
