Responsibilities
- Under the general supervision of the Imaging Supervisor, perform nuclear medicine procedures, schedule procedures, initiate new procedures, transport patients, handle telephone calls for scheduling, and answer questions related to exam reports.
- Handle patient support equipment, i.e., I.V. pumps, O2, etc.
- Assist in cleaning rooms and equipment, ordering supplies, assisting physicians with invasive procedures, and administering basic C.P.R.
- Help the supervisor in the daily operation of the Nuclear Medicine department.
- Graduate of an approved school of radiologic technology/nuclear medicine and/or registered or registry eligible.
- Possess knowledge and understanding of regulatory mandates for quality control and adhere to all DEQ regulations.
- Maintain a high standard of imaging.
- Have a thorough knowledge of nuclear medicine physics, anatomy, and positioning for quality exams.
- Handle multiple demands simultaneously while maintaining a helpful attitude toward patients, families, office personnel, physicians, and associates.
- Coordinate patient prepping and scanning to maximize smooth patient flow.
- Assist in moving patients when needed.
- Participate in performance improvement initiatives.
- Assist with other activities as necessary for the day-to-day operation of the department.
- Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the patients served in the assigned area.
- Demonstrate knowledge of principles of growth and development over the lifespan and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to their specific needs.
