Job Title: Lead/Chief Maintenance Engineer

Reports To: General Manager
SUMMARY
The Lead Maintenance Engineer oversees the Radisson Hotel property maintenance and the daily operation of the engineering staff. Respond to all engineering service calls, giving priority to guest requests, maintain hotel equipment in an efficient, safe, accident-free manner, while in constant communication with the central base station, in accordance with all Hotel/Franchise standards to achieve and exceed guest expectations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Oversee maintenance staff.
- Respond to and handle guest requests within 15 minutes in an efficient and safe manner.
- Prepare preventative maintenance cart for use each day.
- Perform preventative maintenance and necessary repairs on all hotel equipment, including kitchen, laundry, boiler, plumbing, pool, HVAC, electrical, and guest rooms.
- Maintain overall appearance of rooms; replace broken mirrors, hang fixtures, perform touch-up painting, etc.
- Monitor and maintain all engineering functions when full engineering staff is not available (i.e. weekends and evenings).
- Respond to all emergency situations including fire alarm, bomb threats, disasters, and power failures; notify the appropriate authorities.
- Make rounds of the hotel property to ensure everything is in working order.
- Clean and maintain all equipment and work areas.
- Complete maintenance requests, take equipment and meter readings and maintain log to notify next shift.
- Document all parts used and parts that need to be purchased.
- Handle elevator breakdowns, or call appropriate company.
- Report unsafe conditions to the Director of Engineering.
- Set up machine and make nametags and signs.
- Assist with maintenance of parking lot and snow removal as needed.
- Make keys as requested.
- Complete other assignments as requested.

- Ability to commute/relocate to work in person: Duluth, MN 55802 - Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required).
- Must demonstrate understanding of the technical service skills for assigned area (i.e., food & beverage service, housekeeping, etc.).
- Must be skilled in determining whether tasks should be attempted, identifying the most effective way of completing the task, and preparing how to overcome unexpected difficulties.
- Must be guest service oriented.
- Must be able to work quickly and efficiently.
- Must be able to work with little or no supervision.
- Must have ability to maintain and repair HVAC, electrical, plumbing equipment and perform carpentry, repair work, construction, and renovations work.
- May require the ability to drive pick-up truck and snow removal equipment.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Supervising Experience: 1 year (Preferred).
- Maintenance: 2 years (Preferred).
- High school diploma or equivalent.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATE
Driver's License (Preferred).
LANGUAGE SKILLS
English is a must; other languages are a plus.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Basic mathematical skills are a must.
