The Nuclear Medicine Technologist administers sound patient care practices according to department and hospital policies/procedures. Completes ancillary tasks to ensure efficient and consistent departmental operations. Demonstrates radiation protection/safety for patients, staff, and self as outlined in department protocols and regulatory guidelines. Maintains equipment, exam rooms, and work areas in a neat and safe condition. Provides clinical services according to Nuclear Medicine practice standards while acting as a resource to Nuclear Medicine students and other technologists.

Job Responsibilities:
- Demonstrates acquisition and exercise of new skills. Displays progress in level of functionality. Communicates effectively with mentor(s) and over time, demonstrates greater independence and decision-making ability.
- Able to perform at expected level of supervisor(s) expectations.
- Adheres to department policies and protocols by ensuring all examinations are optimized for interpretation.
- Demonstrates the ability and skills to assist with adhering to radiography principles.
- Demonstrates the effective use of radiation protection procedures with collimation devices and protective shielding.
Requirements for Consideration:
- Graduate of an accredited Associate's school/program of Nuclear Medicine Technology.
- ARRT-N or CNMT obtained within one year of hire date.
- NMTCB or ARRT (N) certification as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist within one year of hire date.
- Registered State Inspector - Virginia within 3 months.
- Experience in a hospital/healthcare environment as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist/Student.
- Basic Life Support upon start.
