How You'll Help Transform Healthcare:
Performs professional duties involved in a variety of technical procedures to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for radiological diagnosis of patients of all ages.
- Applies knowledge of growth and development to appropriately care for all patients served.
- Operates highly specialized, technical equipment to obtain images and test results. Applies knowledge of radiopharmacy to administer diagnostic and therapeutic doses to patients under the direction of an authorized user by IV, inhalation and ingestion.
- Prepares patients for examinations and explains procedures, correlating patient history with test to be performed. Performs duties associated with processing patients, which may include scheduling, registration, image management and computer processing skills.
- Evaluates, prepares and observes patients with professional ethics, care, courtesy, patience and safety.
- Complies with all Carilion Clinic and Imaging policies, procedures and regulatory guidelines.
- Participates in the training of students and staff as assigned.
- Maintains Nuclear Medicine certification. Obtains required CEU's per certification board. Enhances personal and professional growth through participation in educational opportunities.
What We Require:
Education: High school graduate or equivalent. Graduate of a CAHEA School of Radiologic Technology and/or CAHEA School of Nuclear Medicine Technology or equivalent.
Experience: Experience in Nuclear Medicine preferred.
Licensure/Certification: Certification in Nuclear Medicine Technology by NMTCB or ARRT. AHA BLS-HCP certification required.
Other: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
