The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
Position Summary
The Nurse Manager will be responsible for oversite of the Interventional and Diagnostic Radiology Nursing staff at ColumbiaDoctors 51st Outpatient Radiology. The Nurse Manager will ensure patient care needs are met and remain compliant with local, state and federal regulations and accreditation standards.
Responsibilities
- Works with the Practice Manager and Clinical Operations Manager to provide adequate staffing coverage
- Working with the IR clinical operations manager and practice manager, develops electronic staff calendar to track staffing, vacation and sick; Approves Nursing Time Off
- Completes Annual Nurse Evaluations, Discipline Staff
- Coordinate daily work assignments to enhance patient workflow and comply with QA equipment requirements
- Emergency Equipment QA
- Point of Care daily QA
- Controlled Substance Maintenance and QA logs
- Precept new staff
- Assessment and Care of the VIR patient throughout care delivery: Pre-procedure assessment and preparation; Intra-procedural IR set up and Post procedural care
- Provide for safe and accurate administration of medication, intravenous fluids, contrast and
- Establish intravenous access for contrast administration ,medication administration, and intravenous fluids.
- Provide Safe and Appropriate Administration of Conscious Sedation following ColumbiaDoctors Policy & Procedure as per ASA guidelines
- Perform physical, psychological and cognitive status assessments of patients.
- Monitor patient throughout care delivery for change in status and make appropriate intervention /contact primary care givers for instruction.
- Initiate care and discharge plan for patients after invasive procedures, educate patient and provide written instructions
- Provide phone instructions pre-procedure when applicable
- Assign Telephone follow-up call 24hr post procedure
- Ensure proper documentation is completed for all patient care eMR
- Identifies and corrects problems as appropriate with all critical occurrences reported to the next level of authority.
- Responsible for maintenance and storage of medication, syringe, catheter inventory.
- Oversees all functions of the CAPSA Nexsys Medication Dispensing Cabinet
- Follow all Radiation Safety Guidelines per Columbia University Radiation Safety Program
- Performs other duties as assigned
