Registered Nurse (RN) Inpatient Rehabilitation Night Shift
Inova Health System is seeking a Rehab Registered Nurse (RN) for our Magnet recognized Inova Fairfax Medical Campus. This is a full-time (3x12 hour shift) night shift position.
Preferred candidates will have prior Inpatient Rehab or Medical/Surgical Tele unit experience.
Inova Fairfax Medical Campus is the largest hospital campus within Inova Health System, with 923 inpatient beds. The campus is also home to Northern Virginia's only Level 1 Trauma Center and is certified by The Joint Commission as a Comprehensive Stroke Center. The rehabilitation services department is an integral part of Inova Fairfax Medical Campus. Our team members include physical, occupational and speech-language therapy professionals as well as specialized technicians in orthopedics and rehabilitation.
The Inova Rehab Nurse provides hands-on care, coordinates nursing care activities with other members of the team, and identifies educational activities needed to help patients progress through the rehabilitation process. Education efforts reinforce skills learned in the therapies as well as focus on the following areas:
- Disease or injury specific information
- Blood pressure monitoring
- Blood sugar monitoring
- Skin care
- Bowel and bladder management
- Medications and treatments
- Safety
* Provides direct nursing care to spinal cord injured, traumatic brain injured, post cerebral vascular accidents, and debilitation patients in Inova's rehab program.
* Must work collaboratively with the rehab team to provide a therapeutic rehab experience for our patients.
* Administers medications and intravenous therapy with the ability to assess the indication, appropriate dosing, and effects of the medication using proper patient identification.
* Uses established protocols or practices to assess an individual's function and health management needs.
* Collaborates with the client, family, and interdisciplinary team to develop a plan of care.
Job Requirements :
At least one year of Registered Nurse (RN) clinical experience.
- BLS for Healthcare Provider certification required.
- RN licensed, or eligible to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia as an RN.
- Education: BSN from an accredited school of nursing. If RN has an Associates Degree (ADN); must complete BSN within 24 months of start date.
- Proficient in English, strong verbal and written communication skills.
