Job Summary:
Reporting to the Director of Clinical Pharmacy, the Manager, Clinical Pharmacy will be managing clinical programs, providing patient care, and collaborating cross-functionally in a virtual environment to optimize the pharmaceutical care for our members. This Clinical Pharmacy Manager will be responsible for delivering virtual direct patient care for various initiatives around STARS pharmacy measures, overseeing the Central Pharmacy Refill Service, and assisting with other clinical initiatives as needed. The individual will interface with various internal teams. An ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Medicare Advantage prescription benefits, possess strong clinical knowledge, and be driven by a passion for improving medication access for seniors.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Complete virtual/telephonic outreach with members regarding STARS Statin measures and other clinical initiatives.
- Monitor CMS STARS Medication Adherence measures/Statin measures over several health plans.
- Oversee and optimize Central Pharmacy Refill Service workflow as needed.
- Complete virtually direct patient care with MTM services.
- Participate in hiring and providing oversight of Pharmacy Technicians, including maintaining training and periodic competency evaluation.
- Develop relationships with various internal teams throughout program execution.
- Develop provider education on pharmacy topics as needed.
- Assist with other pharmacy departmental initiatives as they become available.
- Additional duties, as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Medicare Advantage experience in CMR STARs pharmacy measures.
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records.
- Advanced knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite products including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Experience in developing and maintaining policies and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Ability to work effectively and respectfully with various seniorities and diverse populations including members, staff, providers, and family members.
- High degree of emotional intelligence and integrity, resilient and focused work ethic, with adaptability to handle frequent changes with a positive attitude.
- Self-starter with the ability to think creatively and work effectively.
- Ability to travel to various markets on occasion for company meetings and/or provide clinical education.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college of Pharmacy required, PharmD preferred.
- A valid, active pharmacy license in state of employment, required.
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in clinical pharmacy (managed care or clinic setting).
- PGY-1 residency, especially in managed care, preferred.
- Experience with medication protocols, preferred.
