Ultrasound Tech (RDMS)
We are seeking a dedicated Ultrasound Technician to join our Radiology Department in Lexington, KY. The Ultrasound Tech will be instrumental in performing diagnostic ultrasound exams and routine invasive procedures, using state-of-the-art equipment to support the best medical decisions. Compensation: $48,000.00 - $72,000.00 with a comprehensive benefits package.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Receives and prepares patients for ultrasound examinations, ensuring their comfort and understanding of the procedure.
- Operates ultrasound devices to perform clinical diagnostic ultrasound exams according to established protocols and standards.
- Assists radiologists and other medical staff in conducting invasive procedures such as paracentesis and needle aspirations/biopsies.
- Organizes and maintains the ultrasound examination schedule to ensure smooth patient flow and optimal use of the equipment.
- Maintains all ultrasound equipment and supplies, ensuring everything is in working order and stocked as needed.
- Completes detailed patient records with accuracy to maintain clinical documentation that meets healthcare regulations.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
- Associate’s Degree in Radiology or Ultrasound from an accredited program.
- Certification as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS).
- Current registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists ARRT in Sonography (S).
- Ability to perform various ultrasound examinations and procedures independently.
- Excellent patient care and communication skills, able to explain procedures and comfort patients.
- Basic computer proficiency and the ability to manage electronic patient records.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a hospital setting.
- Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) certification.
- Proven ability to handle stress and adapt in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Advanced certifications in diagnostic medical sonography are a plus.
- Prior experience assisting with invasive radiological procedures.
- Strong problem-solving skills and analytical acumen.
