The Leidos Cryptographic and Security Testing Laboratory (CSTL) is a leading provider of cybersecurity services, specializing in FIPS 140 certifications. Established over 15 years ago, we are one of the largest FIPS 140 laboratories in the world by volume of validations completed and certifications achieved. We are dedicated to ensuring the security and integrity of the products we test while providing the utmost highest quality of care for our stakeholders. As we continue to expand our operations, we are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team to take on the role of Lab Manager, overseeing the day-to-day operations of our lab.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Project Oversight: Oversee all our FIPS 140 projects and provide guidance to testers where necessary.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor our technical team, especially junior staff. Foster a collaborative and positive work environment that encourages professional growth and development.
- Lead Tester: In addition to project oversight, work on FIPS 140 projects of your own, acting as the lead tester to ensure you're keeping your technical skills sharp.
- Quality Assurance: Perform quality assurance procedures to guarantee the accuracy and reliability of our work. Implement new procedures to continuously improve our quality assurance process.
- Customer Interaction: Collaborate with customers to understand their specific needs, address concerns, and provide project updates.
- Process Improvements: Suggest and implement new processes and improvements to current processes to further strengthen our lab's ability to effectively execute our work.
- Lab Director/Technical Director backup: Serve as backup in the event that either the Lab Director or Technical Director are unavailable.
Basic Qualifications:
- Active Cryptographic Validation Program (CVP) certification.
- Minimum 5 years of experience working in the FIPS 140 industry i.e. at a validation laboratory, vendor, consultant, etc.
- Strong understanding of FIPS 140 standard and related documentation.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Security, or a related field of study.
- Knowledge of cryptography concepts (encryption, key exchange, hashing/message authentication, PKI, random number generators, etc.)
- Knowledge of common security related protocols and their design (i.e. SSH, IPsec, TLS, etc.)
- Experience with various programming languages (C, C++, Python or Java)
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Strong English (both oral and written) skills.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Strong multitasking and time management.

Pay Range: $101,400.00 - $183,300.00
