Overview The RT Clinical Specialist serves as a liaison and on-site resource to the department. The Clinical Specialist is responsible for the orientation and continued education for the team members within RHS, and is also responsible for scheduling in-services, scheduling orientation for new employees and students, chairing key committees and assisting in annual competencies for staff members. Adheres to assuring safe practices as set forth by the National Patient Safety Goals and supports best practices as recommended by the American Association for Respiratory Care.
What you will do - Serves as an on-site resource to the team and functions as a liaison with other departments within the System.
- Responsible for staff orientation and continued education. Coordinates and schedules in-services and onboarding.
- Assists in competency evaluations.
- Practices and adheres to National Patient Safety Goals and supports best practices as recommended by the AARC.
- Responsible for assessing, diagnosing, implementing, and evaluating the treatment and procedures that contribute to the Respiratory Care Plan.
- Completes all documentation and assures all orders are current, completed or discontinued.
- Works with physicians and nurses to create treatment plans. Evaluates progress of the treatment.
Qualifications Education - Bachelors Degree, Respiratory Therapy (Preferred)
- Associates Degree, Respiratory Therapy (Required)
Experience - 3-4 years Respiratory Care experience (Required)
Licenses and Certifications - Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) - The National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) Upon Hire (Required)
- CPR/BLS Certification - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) Upon Hire (Required)
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - The National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) Upon Hire (Required)
- ACLS Provider - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) Upon Hire (Required)
- PALS Provider - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) (Preferred)
- Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) - American Academy of Pediatrics (Preferred)
- RHS Advanced Airway Management (AAM) within 1-1/2 Yrs (Required)
