We are currently hiring a full time Licensed Creative Arts Therapist for Fremont Hospital!
The Licensed Creative Arts Therapist will provide therapeutic services to patients using a variety of creative modalities, such as art, music, drama, or dance/movement. The therapist will work with individuals, groups, and families to address a range of mental health and emotional needs.
The Licensed Creative Arts Therapist is a part of the multidisciplinary team of outpatient services reporting to the program manager. They carry a caseload, facilitate groups, and conduct individual therapy using a combination of evidence-based treatment and creative arts interventions consistent with research findings, education, training, and experience. They exercise sound judgment and clinical excellence and sustain therapeutic alliance and patient satisfaction.

Fremont Hospital is a fully accredited, 148-bed private inpatient psychiatric hospital providing quality care for children through adults. The facility provides a full assortment of care which includes assessments, inpatient psychiatric hospitalization, partial-hospitalization, intensive outpatient psychiatric treatment as well as chemical dependency outpatient care.

Qualifications Education:
- Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in a creative arts therapy, social work, counseling psychology, psychology, or related field required.
Experience:
- Direct clinical experience in a psychiatric, mental health, or a comparable setting.
- Experience in running groups using creative arts therapy interventions.
- Experience in patient assessment, treatment planning, and communication with external review organizations, or comparable entities.
- Ability to provide skills training and cognitive restructuring within the cognitive-behavioral-affective model used and other evidence-based treatment, some DBT preferred.
Licensure:
- State Licensure (LMFT, LCSW, LPCC, PsyD, LP) required.
Certification(s):
- Certification in creative arts therapy of study and practice through certifying body preferred:
- International Expressive Arts Therapy Association (IEATA): registered expressive arts therapist (REAT).
- American Art Therapy Association (AATA): registered art therapists (ATR).
- American Dance Therapy Association (ADTA): registered dance/movement therapist (DMT).
- North American Drama Therapy Association (NADTA): registered drama therapist (RDT).
Other Requirements:
- CPR/AED Certification must be current and presented to Human Resources upon hire.
- You may be required to successfully complete the Fremont Hospital’s non-violent Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training course within 90 days of employment and prior to assisting with preventative intervention measures.
