Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.

The Surgical Technologist helps prepare the operating room by setting up sterile surgical instruments and supplies. During the surgical procedure, the surgical tech is responsible for anticipating the needs of the surgeon by passing instruments and supplies, performing sponge/sharps counts, and providing solutions to the surgeons. The surg tech will ensure there are no breaks in sterile technique.
Pediatric & Peds/Adult Congenital Cardiac OR has 10 operating rooms and 2 procedure rooms. Nurses scrub and circulate. The surgical subspecialties include: pediatric general surgery, cardiac, neurosurgery, otolaryngology, orthopedics, urology, plastic, burns, trauma, transplant, gastrointestinal, fetal surgery, and dental. Other procedures include: adult overflow cases, oncology- LP & chemo, and anesthesia assisted intubation. The Johns Hopkins Children Center is a Regional Pediatric Burn Center.Students currently enrolled in a Surgical Technology program are encouraged to apply!
Shifts: 10-hour rotating shifts
Job Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED equivalent required
- Successful completion of a Surgical Technology training program or equivalent Surg Tech Military training/work experience is required
- BLS CPR certification required: AHA, Red Cross, or Military Training Network accepted
- No surgical technician work experience required
- CST certification via the NBSTSA required
