Mass General is offering up to a $3k sign-on bonus for Pharmacy Technicians.
Sign-On Agreement Terms:
- 12-month work commitment
- Half payment distribution at 90 days and half payment after 1 year postdate of hire
- Agreement authorizes repayment if work commitment not fulfilled
- No eligibility for internal transfers, individuals who have already accepted offers or internal employees of Mass General Brigham system
- Pro-rated based on hours worked per week
The technician, working under the direction of the lead technician and outpatient oncology pharmacist, is responsible for:
- Setting up bins for mixing with proper medication and bag and tubing and filter requirements.
- Assisting pharmacist in clean room with bagging medications and scanning barcodes for medication charging.
- Preparing IV chemotherapy, investigational drugs, and other medications using aseptic technique.
- Adhering to safety requirements in the handling and preparation of chemotherapy and other hazardous agents according to current guidelines (USP 797, USP 800, ASHP, NIOSH).
- Assisting in maintaining a clean work environment and conducting daily and monthly cleaning of hoods.
- Ordering, receiving, and restocking inventory.
- Checking expiration dates and rotating medications, syringes, IV bags, and other products.
- Properly disposing of waste products.
- Performing quality control checks.
- Delivering medications as needed and receiving packages and returned items as needed.
Qualifications:
- Current MA license required.
- PTCB Certification required.
- High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
- 1+ year of experience as a Pharm Tech in a Hospital setting preferred.
