Occupational Health Nurse
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Occupational Health Nurse to join our team in Geneva, IL. This role is pivotal in promoting and restoring health, preventing illness and injury among employees, and effectively managing disability and Workers’ Compensation cases. As an Occupational Health Nurse, you will oversee various health initiatives, provide emergency treatment, and ensure compliance with health regulations. This position offers a unique opportunity to directly contribute to the health and safety of our workforce in an environment that values continuous improvement and proactive healthcare.
Compensation: $70,000.00 - $95,000.00
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee and organize health promotion activities such as health fairs and blood lead management programs to enhance employee health and prevent work-related illnesses and injuries.
- Provide initial emergency care for both occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses, ensuring timely and effective medical response.
- Maintain and update health services policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with the latest health standards and company requirements.
- Ensure strict compliance with federal, state, and local health regulations, reducing legal risks and protecting employee health.
- Conduct medical surveillance and biological monitoring programs as per OSHA Lead standards to prevent occupational diseases.
- Administer proactive intervention counseling to employees regarding blood-lead levels, promoting health and prevention strategies.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
- Active Registered Nursing License in the state of Illinois or eligibility for licensure.
- Minimum 5 years of professional nursing experience, demonstrating a comprehensive ability in healthcare provision.
- At least 2 years experience in Occupational Health or Nursing Management, underscoring specific sector experience.
- Proven expertise in blood draw and biological specimen collection, necessary for effective medical surveillance programs.
- Solid understanding of health care regulations including OSHA guidelines and Worker’s Compensation laws, ensuring full compliance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- In-depth knowledge and experience dealing with Workers' Compensation claims and management.
- Advanced certifications in occupational health nursing or a related field are a plus.
- Experience in developing and implementing health promotion programs tailored to workplace needs.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills to manage health programs and initiatives effectively.
- Exceptional communication skills to interact with a diverse workforce and external health providers.
