Cardiothoracic Advanced Practitioner
We are actively seeking a dedicated Cardiothoracic Advanced Practitioner to join our robust CT Surgery team in West Reading, PA. This role offers an exceptional opportunity to engage deeply with both surgical procedures and comprehensive patient management in a fast-paced hospital setting. Compensation: $100,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform responsibilities in the operating room as surgical first assist to Cardiothoracic Surgeons.
- Handle direct admissions and discharges, consults and rounding, ensuring consistent and comprehensive patient care.
- Engage in post-operative care including critical tasks such as Pacing Wire Removal, Chest Tube Removal, and Wound VAC changes.
- Manage ICU operations during night shifts including oversight of critical care appliances like ventilators and ventricular assist devices.
- Perform health assessments and physical examinations on patients pre and post-surgery.
- Prescribe and manage pre and post-operative diagnostic studies and pharmacological treatments.
- Participate in on-call duties roughly one weekend every three weeks, handling emergencies and urgent case reviews.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
- Certification with an active Professional Pennsylvania license as a PA or NP.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Demonstrated experience in a cardiothoracic or cardiology surgical setting.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary health care team.
- Strong commitment to patient-centered care.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior first assisting experience in cardiothoracic surgeries strongly preferred.
- Experience in managing ventricular assist devices and hemodynamic monitoring.
- Familiarity with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems.
- Proactive communication skills, especially involving complex patient and family discussions.
- Prior experience in an academic medical center environment is an asset.
