The company performs immunoassays ( antibody based) for endocrinology, immunology, reproductive medicine, cancer markers and clinical chemistry. They are not involved with microbiology or molecular biology.
Managing between 10-20 personnel.
Seeking an experienced Laboratory Manager to oversee our Clinical Laboratory in Irvine, California. The ideal candidate will manage daily lab operations, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, provide technical support to clients, and oversee a dedicated team of professionals. This role requires a strong background in clinical chemistry, excellent management and communication skills, and a commitment to maintaining the highest quality standards in laboratory testing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage daily operations of the clinical chemistry lab, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to protocols.
- Lead, train, and mentor laboratory staff, promoting a collaborative and professional work environment.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, including CLIA, CAP, and other states agencies.
- Develop, implement, and monitor quality control programs to maintain high testing accuracy and reliability.
- Manage operations, including inventory control, purchasing of supplies, and equipment maintenance.
- Troubleshoot technical issues with lab equipment and testing procedures.
- Manage with alternate when the technical staff is on leave of absence.
- Answer technical and operations inquiries from the customer
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree with interest in Medical Technology or any Biological Sciences (Required); Masters is a plus.
- CLS (Required)
- 3+ years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting.
- In-depth knowledge of Laboratory testing, quality management systems and assay development.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to deliver quality efficiently while managing a lean team
- Proficiency with laboratory information management systems (LIMS)
- This role requires a strong background in Medical Laboratory, excellent management and communication skills, and a commitment to maintaining the highest quality standards in laboratory testing.
