In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting our engineering and research efforts by conducting tests, analyzing data, and maintaining laboratory equipment. This is a 6 month contract position
Responsibilities
- Conduct mechanical tests and experiments to evaluate materials and components.
- Prepare and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments for testing.
- Document test results and analyze data to provide insights for engineering projects.
- Collaborate with engineers and researchers to develop and improve testing protocols.
- Work with various manufacturing machines such as CNCs and CMMs
- Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards in the lab environment.
- Assist in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues with equipment.
- Maintain an organized and clean laboratory space.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or a related field.
- Proven experience in a laboratory or technical environment, preferably in mechanical testing
(4 years of experience typically required)
- Strong understanding of mechanical principles and testing methodologies.
- Proficiency in using laboratory equipment and software for data analysis.
- Experience with sample preparation for mechanical analysis (e.g. CNC machining, marking, measuring, hydraulic shears, etc.)
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Salary info:
