Manager of Pharmacy

Position Summary
The Pharmacy Manager has the responsibility for a designated pharmacy service department or departments within Asante. Responsibilities include managing personnel, operations, finances, and pharmacy services for identified area(s); serving as the Pharmacist-in-Charge or overseeing the Pharmacist-in-Charge for the area(s) in compliance with the Oregon Board of Pharmacy; and functioning as staff pharmacist in area(s) of responsibility, as needed. Reports to the Pharmacy Service Line Director.
As a Pharmacy Manager at Asante, you will have the opportunity to:
- Ensure patient care is delivered in accordance with pharmacy standards, federal and state regulations, accreditation standards and Asante's mission, vision, and values.
- Coordinate pharmacy involvement in collaborative clinical or operational efforts and serve as performance improvement coordinator ensuring teamwork and customer service.
- Take responsibility for selection, training, performance, development, and retention of qualified staff, creating consistency in patient care planning and employee job satisfaction.
- Monitor and manage the quality and quantity of pharmacy services and resources utilization, ensuring consistent safe patient care and contribution to the department and organization financial stability.
- Process clinical information ensuring consistency in evidence-based patient care to include reviewing and acting upon clinical elements of policies, procedures, order sets, protocols, and standing orders; and preparing and presenting clinical information in an accurate and timely manner.
- Participate in Management Team Functions, ensuring organizational and departmental success, enhancing customer and employee satisfaction.
- Manage operating and capital budget projections, ensuring financial viability for the department and organization.
- Promote a positive and professional image, promote the values in all interactions, and demonstrate a commitment to the profession of pharmacy.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or Doctorate in Pharmacy required.
- Additional Master's of Business Administration or Health Administration degree preferred.
Experience
- 2 years pharmacy supervisory experience or equivalent such as lead experience or primary preceptor responsibility is required.
Licensure/Certifications
- RPh: Registered Pharmacist by Oregon Board of Pharmacy required.
