Overview
New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine (NYITCOM) seeks a Postdoctoral Teaching and Research Fellow for the Department of Anatomy. This is a 3-year position in the Anatomy Department at NYITCOM. Appointment to this position includes $3,000 per year to support research activities. Responsibilities
The successful applicant will teach cadaver-based, human anatomy labs to medical students as well as engage in anatomical research. It is expected that equal effort will be devoted to teaching and research. The successful applicant is also expected to develop independent research projects, mentor osteopathic medical students on some of these projects, and apply for necessary funding.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess a Ph.D. or equivalent degree. Although the research area is not specified, applicants with a research focus that complements and/or supports ongoing research of anatomy faculty are preferred (research link).

NYITCOM's Anatomy Department includes 9 full-time faculty with active research programs in biomechanics, evolution and development, and neurosensory anatomy. The successful applicant will have access to state-of-the-art research facilities including: a visualization center equipped with micro-CT scanner and Amira workstations; a fresh tissue laboratory for histology and staining; an embryology laboratory for in vivo experiments; a microscopy facility with confocal microscopes; both human and animal gait labs for collecting kinematic, kinetic, energetic, and EMG data; a fully staffed animal care facility, and the Center for Biomedical Innovation for robotics, VR, AR, and 3D printing. NYITCOM enjoys close proximity to major research institutions such as the American Museum of Natural History and Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory.
