To our prospective teammates,
I’m the medical director for St. Rose Dominican Hospital located in Henderson, NV. I have been a part of Sound Group for 5 years and part of the practice at St. Rose for 6 years. I’m proud of the critical care practice we have built and welcome interest from physicians desiring a career change to explore an opportunity with our group. I’d like to share more about it, specifically about ourpeople, practice, and purpose, as you consider options:
People?
- We are a closely knit, established team of 6 physicians and 4advanced practice providers.
- We have strong nursing leadership that are aligned with our clinical goals. One of our current projects is improving over sedation practices. We welcome new team members to participate in the multiple committees and quality initiatives throughout the hospital.
- Our team is a social group and meet occasionally for nights out. Henderson has one of the best school districts in the state. We have access to Lake Meade, Lion Habitat Ranch, and many other great parks and golf courses. Being a city with 500,000 residents, yet only 20 minutes to downtown Las Vegas, Henderson residents get all the benefits of suburban life while not compromising metro amenities.
Practice
- Siena is a level II trauma center and comprehensive stroke center with a robust cardiac surgery program. We have a 30-bed med/surg ICU and a 20-bed CVICU.
- We are starting new ECMO program. We see all types of ICU patients and have excellent collaboration with physicians, APPs, and nursing staff.
- The schedule is 7 on/7 off. Primarily day shifts with some night shifts. 1 intensivist & 1 APP from 5a-5p, 1 intensivist & 1 APP from 7a-7p, and 1 intensivist & 1 APP from 7p-5a.
- APPs typically see 9-10 patients per shift. Must be comfortable performing arterial lines, central lines, and intubations.
- We work in Cerner, with access to our own internal informatics platform. We can text or call-in orders to the nurse instead of going through the EMR.
- Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life, and AD&D insurance, long- and short-term disability, 401k with match, paid medical malpractice and tail coverage, and annual CME allowance.
Purpose
- We put patients first. Always.
- We value and support growth and development in our critical care practice, allowing you to explore new opportunities locally and within the broader medical group.
- We’re a community-minded team and support involvement and contributions to community health and wellness in and out of the hospital.
