- Develop and Deliver Educational Programs: Create and implement training programs for surgical staff, including nurses and surgical technologists.
- Curriculum Development: Create and update educational materials and curricula that address the specific needs of transitioning staff.
- Mentorship and Preceptorship: Provide guidance and support to new and existing staff through mentorship and preceptorship programs
- Competency Assessment: Evaluate the skills and competencies of surgical staff to ensure they meet the required standards
- In-Service Training: Conduct in-service training sessions on new equipment, procedures, and best practices
- Quality Improvement: Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety
- Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Work with other healthcare professionals to promote effective communication and teamwork

What We Require:
Education: Bachelor's degree in nursing required, master's degree preferred.
Experience: Extensive experience in surgical nursing (Must have minimum of 3 years of OR experience in an acute care facility.)
Licensure/Certification: Currently licensed as Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia AHA BLS-HCP required. May be required to obtain/maintain, ACLS, PALS, NRP based on specific work unit. Relevant certifications such as Perioperative Nursing Certification (CNOR) are preferred.
Other: Must have strong communication skills, organizational skills, training skills, cand leadership skills. Must successfully complete orientation and competency requirements. Keyboarding skills and computer literacy required for automated computer systems, including electronic medical records. Must be able to meet essential job functions.
