Job Summary
This work will support the conduct of a prospective cohort study of oral health and cardiovascular health among young adult college students in California. Primary responsibilities include supporting the recruitment and enrollment efforts of eligible participants at a collaborating field site (California State University East Bay). This project will be in collaboration with the Department of Preventive and Restorative Dental Sciences (PRDS), School of Dentistry (SOD), UCSF. The Research Assistant will coordinate with other study personnel on participant recruitment, enrollment, consent, scheduling, and data collection, as needed.
The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.
Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
The salary range for this position is $19.43 - $22.49 (Hourly Rate).

PRDS is the largest department in the School of Dentistry. The Department is comprised of seven divisions including Behavioral Sciences and Community Dental Education, Biomaterials and Bioengineering, Clinical General Dentistry, Pre-Clinical Simulation, Endodontics, Oral Epidemiology and Dental Public Health, and Prosthodontics.

Required Qualifications
- Graduation from high school or a General Education Diploma and one year of laboratory experience or two years of college including courses in the natural, physical or social sciences; or an equivalent combination of education and experience; and knowledges and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently on long-term collaborative projects
- Good verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- College degree from an university
- Research experience in the natural or biological sciences or in public health or community-based research Familiarity with web design and social media outreach
- Experience with event promotion and community outreach
