Job Overview:
You will provide quality care in the outpatient setting for cancer patients and their families. You will provide collaborative physician-based care with appropriate levels of autonomy. A focus on high quality and safety is critical to supporting this high-risk patient population and delivering beyond standard of care to their patients and families. This position is focused in the outpatient area. Oncology experience is highly preferred.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Nursing required, Nurse Practitioner Certification.
- Registered Professional Nurse with current NJ state license; CDS and DEA.
- APSHO Cancer Therapy Prescribing Course Certificate OR AOCNP Certification required to prescribe chemotherapy/biotherapy.
- BLS and ACLS certified.

Essential Functions:
- Performs comprehensive initial and episodic health assessments in order to identify existing or potential health problems.
- Initiates and implements individualized nursing and medical plan of care in collaboration with members of the multidisciplinary team.
- Initiates appropriate diagnostic, therapeutic, medical and nursing actions in conjunction with physicians.
- Provides follow up care including acute and routine examinations.
- Assesses progress, identifies problems, initiates preventive measures, recognizes emergent problems and initiates proper care in collaboration with physicians.
- Monitors and adjusts patients' medication according to protocol or medical plan of care, including adequate pain control.
