Key Responsibilities:
- Work under the supervision of a physician, examining patients and assessing their health needs
- Obtain complete medical histories, prioritize health problems, and determine necessary diagnostic tests
- Perform examinations and utilize diagnostic tools to assess patient complaints
- Order and interpret laboratory tests, referring patients to physicians when needed
- Collaborate with the physician to formulate treatment plans and therapeutic regimens
- Prescribe medications in accordance with State law and NRHC policies
- Provide prenatal and postnatal care
- Attend to emergency cases, determine treatment, and arrange hospital transfers when necessary
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure proper documentation for reimbursement and referrals
- Provide on-call services as needed to ensure continuous patient care when the clinic is closed
Qualifications:
- Understanding of medicine in a community health setting and the roles of various health personnel
- Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program or recognized Nurse Practitioners program
- Certified by the California State Board of Medical Examiners (PA) or valid Nurse Practitioner licensure (NP)
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, use discretion, and maintain confidentiality
- Must be flexible and capable of working independently and collaboratively as part of a team
