Registered Nurse - Cardiac Telemetry Stepdown - Part Time Days
Department: Cardiac Telemetry Stepdown - Schedule: 2-12 Hour Shifts from 7:00a.m. - 7:30p.m.- Hospital: Henry Ford Madison Heights - Location: Madison Heights, MI
Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization. Responsibilities include:
- Implements and monitors patient care plans.
- Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
- Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
- Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.
- Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Licensure / Certification / Registration: BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- Registered Nurse credentialed from the Michigan Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
- Education: Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.
- RNs with 1-2 years of recent experience in cardiac care, stepdown, telemetry, or ICU settings preferred. Graduate RNs or RNs without cardiac telemetry experience will be required to attend Hospital based Critical Care Education classes.
- ACLS is required and can be obtained upon hire.
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with telemetry monitoring, interpretation of cardiac rhythms, and management of patients on cardiac drips, proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems, skills in Critical Care, strong assessment skills and ability to recognize early signs of cardiac instability or deterioration.
