Position Overview
At Kelsey-Seybold Clinic, a Rheumatologist is expected to be able to, in a compassionate and professional manner, obtain a complete medical history, document efficiently in an electronic medical record, use diagnostic laboratory and imaging testing, and diagnose and manage a wide variety of rheumatological conditions. The practice of evidence-based medicine and the judicious use of diagnostic tools, with consideration to utility and cost containment, are required and an essential part of Kelsey-Seybold's modus operandi.
The skills to courteously and respectfully interact with patients, staff and colleagues, are also qualities highly appreciated in the Department of Rheumatology. The scope of the practice is general adult Rheumatology and the practitioner will work in the ambulatory care setting with limited and periodic in-hospital consultation duties. All members of the Department of Rheumatology are assigned to at least three clinic locations, in order to provide Rheumatology care in a timely fashion to most of the Greater Houston Metropolitan area. The typical daily schedule is 8 AM to 5 PM. The after-hours calls will be shared with other members of the Rheumatology Department after being triaged by the call center.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an approved training program in the United States
- Active Board certification in Rheumatology or Board Eligibility
- Licensed or willing to be licensed in the State of Texas
