Responsibilities:
The Position:
The Regional Manager, Program Management directly supervises Programs Managers responsible for customers in a region or group of airlines ensuring all program commitments are met. Ensures total customer satisfaction from award of program through in-service operations, including but not limited to program delivery, monthly media/interactive updates, and resolution of in-service issues for a collection of assigned programs. Communicates with middle management at airlines and other 3rd party companies. Responsible for overall group performance of the assigned customer programs including group operations management, group scorecards and KPI’s. Reports to the Director.
Supervisory and Leadership
- Direct/Manage a group of Program Managers for assigned Region.
- Assign appropriate resources and provide visibility of Program Risks and Opportunities.
- Lead the program managers by ensuring regular team meetings, ensuring that all aspects of programs are kept current and that integrated schedules are available.
- Ensure that assigned staff are accountable for delivery according to contracted terms.
- Prioritize daily workload to support of Program/Regional needs.
- Monitor program schedule commitments and direct appropriate personnel of possible impacts(s) or change(s).
- Mentor and provide feedback to Program Managers.
Program P&L management including financial management for:
- NRE (outsource engineering 3rd parties).
- STC Costs Planned Vs Actual.
- License Fees/NRE by program.
- Cost/Payment Program Deferrals.
- Penalty Exposures.
- NRE payment or Cycle of payments (progress payments).
- Ensuring alignment of regional sales forecast.
- Travel Costs associated with non-standard Program requirements.
- New LRU development Chargeable NRE – Proposal stage & implementation.
- Purchase Order Management for all aspects of Customer.
- Interactive Development (3rd Party Costs).
- Customer Credits.
- Customer Courier Expedite Fees, Cancellations, and FOB requirements.
PMO Operational Planning and Oversight
- Responsible for the entire life cycle of all Programs within the assigned region.
- Marketing assistance and review of future proposals and programs to include GTA, P&L, Part List, and work scope review highlights.
- Marketing Program Handovers to Program Managers.
- Support process improvement activities within PMO.
- Program financial approval in accordance with existing company guidelines.
- Regional Reports to include Sales Plan Accuracy, Risks and Opportunities, KPI of Program and Regional Performance, Financial Program Status (P&L review, status and tracking).
- Maintain compliance with departmental operating procedures.
- Maintain superb communications with internal Cross-Functional Team, external 3rd Party Suppliers and with customers by regular follow up status reviews and correspondence.
- Arrange, attend and chair regional program team meetings, reviews, technical coordination meetings and design reviews as required.
- Ensure smooth transition to in-service operation by coordinating efforts with the Product Support Group/CSE and PTS throughout the program.
The salary range of $131,000 – $220,000 is just one component of Panasonic’s total package. The final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to individual’s knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this role may be eligible for discretionary bonuses and incentives.
Qualifications:

- Demonstrated ability to mentor, lead, and build effective teams
- Wide knowledge of the Airline and aviation industry
- Demonstrated ability to fully manage program profit and loss statements.
- Proven leadership ability in identifying program issues, facilitating solutions, and assisting/managing customer escalations for program issues.
- Proficient in the use of MS office suite of software applications.
- Advanced experience using Microsoft Project highly desired.
- Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to read situations and apply diplomacy and tact in communications needed to perform duties.
- Seasoned ability to communicate effectively and work with all areas of the company.
- Ability to effectively influence multiple constituencies internally and externally and inspire action without direct organizational management responsibility. Comfortable leading matrix/integrated teams
- Outstanding communication skills and demonstrated ability in developing and delivering business presentations for senior management.
- Participates with other senior managers to establish strategic plans and objectives.
- Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires in-depth knowledge of the company.
- Directs and controls activities of a broad functional area through several department managers within the company.
- 4-year University Degree in a technical field preferred plus 5-8 years in technical program or project management of which 3 years must have been in a leadership position; or a minimum of 8-10 years' work experience in engineering, software development, project engineering, system engineering or project management of which 3-5 years minimum in a leadership position.
- Aerospace and/or IFE industry experience a plus.
- Ability to travel extensively, up to 40% of the time, to domestic and international locations as a routine part of the role.

- Paid time off: Exempt Salaried employees receive flexible paid time off. This means that there is no fixed number, range, or limit to the amount of Personal and Vacation Days that may be taken for exempt employees. Non-exempt hourly employees accrue 14 vacation days per year + 7 sick days + 3 personal days. Accrual rate increases with tenure. All employees receive 11 company paid holidays per year. We also close our offices at the corporate level in the U.S. between Christmas and New Year. For operational positions that are expected to work on holidays, we provide additional compensation for hours worked.
