This Medical/Surgical Charge Nurse opportunity is full time at 36 hours per week, offers full benefits and a convenient day-shift schedule. This dynamic individual will assume shift responsibility and accountability for the planning and provision of direct and indirect nursing care to the patient, family, care partner, and appropriate others. Coordinates multi-disciplinary team members, directs and facilitates nursing staff in obtaining safe, optimal healthcare outcomes. Supports activities that meet the facility vision, mission and goals.
Job summary: Assumes shift responsibility and accountability for the planning and provision of direct and indirect nursing care to the patient, family, care partner and appropriate others. Coordinates multi-disciplinary team members, directs and facilitates nursing staff in obtaining safe, optimal health care outcomes. Supports activities that meet the facility vision, mission and goals. Provides professional leadership and support to the healthcare team. Job Duties/Responsibilities:
- Provides professional leadership and support to the healthcare team.
- Provides effective leadership for the implementation and improvement of the required components of the patient-centered care delivery model.
- Completes unit patient rounds with purpose to evaluate the patient status, perception and quality of care provided. Supports compliance with hourly rounding with purpose to promote nurse communication, improve safety, and anticipate patient needs.
- Collaborates in the implementation of the interdisciplinary plan of care for assigned patients. Develops goals, treatment plans, and discharge plans that meet individual patient/family needs.

Qualifications- Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program.
- Current Nevada nursing license.
- Current BLS certificate.
- Minimum one year full-time or three years part-time experience in an acute care setting. One to three years supervisory experience preferred.
- ACLS (or obtained within six months of employment) is required.
- Handle with Care (or obtained within six months of employment) in required specialty.
- Must successfully pass any pre-employment assessment(s) required by the facility.
