THIS POSITION WILL BE REPRESENTED AS PART OF A COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT UNIT.
PER FPB Policy FBP-HR-PRO-00001: Internal employees must be in current position for (1) year or greater to be eligible to apply.
Employees hired into the Janitor position will have a starting rate of $16.398 but will not receive the Cost of Living Allowance (COLA) associated until they reach their third (3 rd ) year anniversary dates, at which time they will have attained the top rate in the classification and be entitled to COLA.
Position Overview
In accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement, performs under direct supervision and/or direction, miscellaneous Janitor duties involving little responsibility. The specific work assignment may include duties or activities that assist and support management in one or more of the following functional areas, in addition to other duties as assigned:
- Sweeps, scrubs, waxes, and polishes floors.
- Empties/disposes trash and rubbish containers.
- Performs all work required in housekeeping, sweeping, cleaning, scrubbing, toilet sanitation, etc.
- Cleans the fixtures in the restrooms and replaces supplies.
- Replaces light bulbs and washes windows. Carries ladders and climbs ladder when replacing light bulbs or washing windows.
- Operates extermination materials and equipment.
- Operates scrubbing and cleaning equipment, such as power sweeper and floor waxer.
- Responsible for following proper housekeeping and safety procedures.
- Performs other duties incidental to the work of the department, as required by supervision.
- Maintains knowledge of and demonstrates ability to perform work safely in accordance with all approved safety policies, procedures and applicable regulations and performs assigned duties in a safe manner. If supervising others, has responsibility for the safety of those being supervised and ensures they comply with established safety policies and procedures and practice safe work habits.
- Actively participates in Safety Work Groups.

- Must have a valid state Driver's License and be able to operate standard and automatic transmission vehicles.
