About the Role
Culmen International is seeking a Behavioral Health Director for an upcoming Health and Human Services opportunity. The Behavioral Health Director is responsible for the daily leadership and oversight of all clinical services provided within the program. Their duties include making mental health care decisions, developing services to improve the life quality of the minors in care, and providing clinical training as needed.
What You'll Do in Your New Role
- Continually monitor, in collaboration with the clinical department, the well-being of youth in care and arrange for appropriate services as needed.
- Actively participate with community members to expand on agency network for client services.
- Ensure the quality and enhancement of childcare services in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with other departments to utilize strength-based and culturally sensitive practices.
- Oversee the submission of incident reports and documentation required for program compliance.
- Provide information that supports identifying needs, strengths, and areas of growth for youth adaptation.
- Work alongside clinical leads to identify goals, strengths, and needs in the development of risk assessments, crisis plans, and plans of care.
- Provide ongoing clinical support with de-escalation techniques, crisis interventions, and logistics of emergency situations.
- Ensure clinical staff receive ongoing training to enhance clinical skills.
- Work independently, react to change productively, and handle other essential tasks as assigned while exercising a high level of confidentiality.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in social work, sociology, or relevant behavioral science.
- Minimum of (3) three years clinical employment experience in behavioral science.
- Minimum of (1) one year supervisory experience.
- Minimum of (2) two years experience working with youth in inpatient, residential, or detention facilities, or those with high-risk backgrounds.
- Must be licensed to provide Clinical services in the state where the care provider is located.
- Must be at least 21 years of age at the time of hire.
- Proficiency in English and Spanish (verbal and written) preferred.
- Possess a valid Driver's License.
- Possess a clear Tuberculosis test.
- Ability to successfully clear a background check.
- Ability to successfully clear a drug screening.
- Provide immunization documentation for Tdap, Varicella, MMR, Hepatitis A and B, Varicella.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. for any employer.
