Scope of Position The Outpatient Service Centers include the phlebotomy draw stations located at various locations around the Greater Columbus Area. Outpatient Service Center sites are ever changing and ever growing based on the needs of Central Ohio.
Position Summary The Outreach Customer Service Outpatient Service Centers Manager is responsible for the daily operations and provides leadership within the area. The manager will have oversight of all UH and East Outpatient phlebotomy locations. This position manages numerous projects related to the Outpatient Customer Service Laboratories. Duties include oversight of laboratory operations, CAP/CLIA/TJC compliance, QA/QI initiatives, safety, timekeeping, scheduling, point of care testing (as applicable), information technology, customer service recovery, multidisciplinary relationships, P3 evaluations, corrective action, budgeting, education, and problem resolution within the laboratories. Administrative duties include development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and assistance with the ongoing work and development performed by the Supervisory Team.
Minimum Qualifications
For Hire: Bachelors Degree with MT/MLS(ASCP) certification or higher is required with 5 years of post-degree clinical laboratory experience at a minimum. 8-12 years of relevant experience preferred. Good working knowledge of the principles and operations of phlebotomy and laboratory and maintenance of lab equipment is required. Strong leadership skills, prior experience in completion of written employee evaluations and supervisory experience with direct reports. Ability to solve both internal and external customer service issues. Good working knowledge of large multi-aspect processing area is preferred.
