Minimum Qualifications: Requires technical knowledge in the field acquired through an apprenticeship, a 2-year degree, or professional certificate.

Preferred Qualifications:

Licensed Veterinary Technician with 5+ years hands-on clinical experience within an emergency animal hospital.
2-5 years hands-on experience supervising teams of veterinary technicians within an animal care setting.

Position Summary: The Veterinary Nursing Manager in Small animal 24/7 Care is an experienced Licensed Veterinary Technician that will provide overall supervision of the team of technicians in the unit. This unit is responsible for providing 24-hour nursing care in the Emergency/Critical care area to small animal patients.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies:

Maintain current State of Georgia license as a Licensed Veterinary Technician.
Proven experience within an emergency critical care animal hospital setting.
Knowledgeable and experienced with properly handling animals.
Capable of dealing with stressful situations.
Able to perform all skills of a Licensed Veterinary Technician.

Physical Demands:

Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Sit, stand, stoop, bend and walk intermittently during the day on hard floor surfaces.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Provides day-to-day coaching and supervision of the team of technicians in the 24/7 Care unit.
Handling patients in life-threatening situations.
Administration and application of anesthesia, drugs, fluids, medications, and immunological agents.
