Department Overview
The Center for Radiochemistry Research (CRR) at OHSU provides scientists with access to a suite of powerful tools for imaging with short-lived radionuclides, data analysis and is integrated with campus centers (SARIC and nuclear medicine clinic) for quantitative imaging of these tracers in vivo that provides spatial and temporal data in order to improve our basic understanding of biochemical pathways, disease processes and help select personalized treatments that enhance clinical care.
Function/Duties of Position
We are seeking a skilled chemist with strength in radiochemistry to serve as Senior Research Project Manager for the Center in support of our mission to deliver high quality radiopharmaceuticals. This individual will work closely with the Director of the Center and be responsible for the day‐to‐day operations of the Center. He or she will:
- Manage Center projects, providing oversight and contribute in developing automated synthesis methods, radiochemistry, manufacturing methods and cGMP techniques, maintains and develops SOPs.
- Maintain research documents and records, maintains instrument qualifications and environmental controls. The Project Manager works very closely with the Director of the CRR.
- Work with the cyclotron and perform PET Radiochemistry techniques, in a fast-paced, Core Service and Research capacity.
- Conduct research to develop new radiosynthesis methods and methodologies and service radiosynthesis of positron emitting radiopharmaceuticals.
- Be responsible for equipment function, including operation and maintenance of the cyclotron.
- Work with the Director of the Center to develop and implement budgetary management, including budgeting, cost‐structure, billing, and investments in the Center.
- Oversee regulatory requirements, including site registration, licensing, drug approval, and communication with state and federal regulatory agencies.
- Manage deliverables and timelines for core users.
Required Qualifications
- MS plus 5+ years of experience OR equivalent qualification with relevant experience in synthesis of radio-chemicals, radiochemistry techniques, cyclotron operation.
- Extensive experience in operating a cyclotron facility.
- Extensive training in PET Radiochemistry techniques.
- Extensive experience operating a cyclotron.
- Extensive experience in management of radiochemistry operations.
- Experience in effective collaboration with laboratory personnel.
- PETtrace Cyclotron Service Training.
