The State of New Hampshire, Department of Health and Human Services, Bureau of Family Assistance has a full-time vacancy for Administrative Supervisor V.
SUMMARY:
Plans, supervises and evaluates overall program operations for over 30 assistance programs, and supervises subordinate supervisors in the coordination, implementation and supervision of work assignments of Bureau of Family Assistance (BFA) Family Services Specialists (FSS) and Family Services Associates (FSAs). Ensures fiscally responsible program operations, efficient service delivery, continuous program integrity, compliance with Department mission and policies, and the achievement of all state and federal standards. This position is assigned to the BFA Field Operations Unit and reports to the Regional Administrator.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develops, implements and assesses short- and long-range work plans and business goals to ensure BFA objectives are achieved, and timely service provided, including prioritizing workload, effective allocation of staff and agency resources, and coordinating with administrative staff, other units and partner agencies.
- Reviews and analyzes program and office operations data and statistical reports to evaluate overall program performance, ongoing operations, and program implementation.
- Supervises the work performance of subordinate supervisors, Family Services Specialists, Clerk IV and Family Services Associates.
- Responsible for personnel decisions and actions including interviewing and selection of new staff, assigning work, performance evaluations, and employee discipline.
- Develops, coordinates, and implements policy and program procedures to maintain high quality, efficient customer service, payment accuracy and timeliness.
- Achieves, maintains, and proficiently applies a thorough knowledge of supervision methods and program and technical knowledge.
- Identifies staff training needs, approves training requests and coordinates training strategies.
- Communicates, coordinates, and maintains effective working relationships with all BFA/DHHS employees and supervisors; BFA Management; program partner agencies; state, federal and municipal agencies, community service providers and the general public.
- Develops, implements, and evaluates outcomes from and/or participates in a wide range of BFA projects, pilots and initiatives.
- Trains, supervises and effectively delegates responsibility to subordinate supervisors.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor’s degree from a recognized college or university. Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience.
Experience: Six years’ experience in public assistance with responsibility for planning, monitoring, or evaluating human service programs, or determining eligibility for public assistance programs, plus three years in a supervisory or management level position in any occupational area.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: Valid driver’s license and/or access to transportation for use in statewide travel.
