Under general supervision, provides nutritional services to inpatients and outpatients. Educates staff and community on diabetes management. Plans therapeutic diets in accordance with physician's diagnoses and requirements of regulatory agencies. Functions as a member of the interdisciplinary health care team to implement nutrition care plans.
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Dietetics or Nutrition from an accredited college or university
Licensure:
* Registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration and licensed with the State of Maryland. Work requires successful completion of 15 American Dietetic Association accredited CEUs in previous year.
* Maintain Registration through the Commission on Dietetics and Licensure through the State of Maryland.
* Certification as a Diabetes Educator preferred; a willingness to obtain certification within 12 months of date of hire required.
Experience:
Five years of experience as a registered dietitian. Two years of experience in direct diabetes education and care.
Skills:
* Thorough knowledge of nutrition theory and practice, standards of care for treatment of diabetes, and standards of care for diabetes self-management.
* Knowledge of community resources.
* Advanced analytical skills for assessing patient's needs and developing appropriate and targeted treatment approaches.
* Counseling and group instruction skills.
Pay Range
$55,400.42 - $88,640.67
Final salary offer will be based on the candidate's qualifications, education, experience and alignment with our organizational needs.
