POSITION SUMMARY: We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Echocardiography Technologist I - Certified. In this role, the successful candidate performs all types of Echocardiography testing. Assists the physicians in the delivery of safe, age-appropriate patient care during testing in Echocardiography Lab. Works collaboratively with the RNs and MDs in a Health team forum to promote wellness and optimize patient outcomes and quality care. Participates in practice performance improvement activities that impact patient and service outcomes based on professional practice standards.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Participates in orientation of new employees as needed.
- Responsible for daily quality control of equipment and escalates issues as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Performs transthorachic echocardiograms, stress echo (both exercise and pharmacological) per department and management guidelines. Captures digital cardiac images and performs measurements correctly, recognizing pathology andor customizes exam requiring contrast agent accordingly due to lack of image quality.
- Responds to stat calls accordingly. Reports life threatening pathology to attending Physician or Fellow.
- Responsible for the preparation of echocardiogram procedure including but not limited to equipment, supplies, instruments and appropriate paperwork.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To qualify, you must be a Technical Diploma Graduate from an Accredited Cardiac Ultrasound Program. Appropriate credential in echocardiography, from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) OR Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) OR Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) OR Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) OR Registered Cardiac Congenial Sonographer (RCCS), required. Strong communication (both written and oral), problem solving, and customer service skills. Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office. Experience performing echocardiography with various manufacturer echo machines used in the echo lab.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Current and valid BLS certification - Outpatient facility only. 1 - 2 years experience as an Echocardiography technologist in an outpatient setting.

* Forty-five _(45)_ wpm typing skills are required.
* Medical and insurance terminology and computer experience beneficial
