The Family Specialist is responsible for coordinating therapeutic activities for youth and families so youth can live safely, productively and independently within their home community.
Job Responsibilities
- Maintains positive partnership with referring agency including coordinating required services for youth and families, maintaining timely and effective communication regarding case activities.
- Assists with providing crisis intervention services for youth experiencing acute distress and dysfunctional behaviors to address safety concerns.
- Provides supportive case work counseling to youth and families including all assessments, treatment and discharge plans.
- Coordinates psycho-educational groups as needed.
- Schedules and ensures youth's home visits are goal oriented and work toward building trust, communication and healthy relationships.
- Facilitates comprehensive treatment reviews according to agency and state regulations.
- Completes all state mandated and agency documentation according to policy and regulatory requirements.
Job Requirements
- Minimum of Bachelor's degree in social work or related field required. MSW preferred.
- Minimum of 1-3 years of experience working with diverse youth and families.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule including night and weekend hours as necessary.
- Must have a current and valid driver's license with acceptable driving history to the Agency.
- Ability to work with economically and culturally diverse population.
- Skills: Ability to handle crisis intervention in a solution-focused manner as well as communication skills including written, verbal, and listening skills.
Schedule
Varies week by week, includes evening hours; ability to work a flexible work schedule is required.
Pay
$25 per hour; eligible for overtime.
