Job Description
The Healthcare Field Technician provides support for various Industrial Hygiene and Building Sciences projects by engaging in technical and discipline-related field activities in their assigned region, and nationally on occasion.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct tasks in the field related to healthcare compliance, exposure assessments, Environmental Health and Safety or other Industrial hygiene work.
- Collect samples from project sites and deliver to third party laboratories for analysis – maintaining strict chain of custody.
- Project monitoring and oversight of third-party contracts.
- Prepare portions of technical assessment reports including accurate data/summary tables and/or figures: water loss and mold assessments, risk assessments and reports, OSHA sampling and reports, indoor air quality assessments, etc.
- Maintain consistent communication of project progress with the assigned project manager and/or clients from start to finish of the project.
- Maintain assessment and monitoring equipment.
- Prepare Health and Safety Plans/Job Safety Analyses for sites.
- Meet utilization and other performance metrics as assigned by supervisor.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma.
- Prior work experience in Indoor Air Quality testing preferred, though not required for this role.
- OSHA Health and Safety Certifications. Training will be provided by the company - successful completion required.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong technical writing skills preferred.
- Ability to perform multiple tasks and handle multiple priorities effectively.
- Ability to perform exceptionally under fast-paced conditions.
- Proficiency utilizing Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) preferred.
- Ability to meet deadlines both internally and externally.
- Willingness to work weekends and evenings as needed.
- Ability/willingness for frequent regional travel, with occasional overnight, extended stay and/or national travel possible.
- Possession of a valid driver's license is required for this role and have reliable transportation.
- Required to have annual influenza vaccination to work on healthcare sites.
Physical Requirements:
- Walk job sites during inspections, sometimes on uneven terrain, climbing of ladders to access and evaluate roofing conditions and roof mounted equipment.
- Carry field testing equipment (up to 30 pounds) onto job sites with regularity.
- Participation in VERTEX medical monitoring program.
The projected hiring range for this position is $26 to $29 hourly for a person who meets the requirements.
