Description POSITION SUMMARY: Performs radiographic procedures as requested by physicians and Radiologist. Has a good understanding of advance anatomy. Provides excellent care for patients and an understanding that they may be in pain; follows AIDET guidelines. Makes sure to check positive identification before performing all exams. Has advanced knowledge of contrast media, how it affects patients and what action to take in the event of a reaction. Checks and double checks all contrast before it is given to the patient and charts contrast usage appropriately in the patients chart. Able to obtain diagnostic quality images for interpretation by a Radiologist. Has the ability to manipulate the x-ray machine to acquire adequate images even when the patients are not able to move. Understand that the operating room is a priority and that the surgeons needs need to be attended to quickly.
Requirements MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent and graduation from accredited Radiologic Technology Program required.
CERTIFICATION/LICENSES: ARRT and New Mexico State licenses required. BLS certification issued through American Heart Association required within a month of hire date.
SKILLS: Thorough knowledge of radiographic imaging equipment, anatomy and physiology, radiographic positioning, medical terminology and basic computer skills.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum one year experience required which can be substituted with clinical education experience.

-Responsible to: Manager, Radiology and Supervisor Radiology

- Bloodborne pathogen C
Exposure to various body fluids and ionizing radiation.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Prolonged, extensive or considerate standing and walking. Lifts, positions, pushes and or transfers patients and equipment in excess of 50 lbs.
