Epic Travel Staffing is hiring a Travel RN – PCU – ME4 IP Trauma 48’s
Shift: Nights / 7p-7:30a, 12×4, 48 hrs per week, will consider 36’s
Length: 13 weeks
Traveler must be available to work every other weekend/holiday
Requirements:
- OH License
- 2 Years Experience
- Must have SD/PCU experience to be considered
- Must be able to read and interpret strips
- Some level 1 or 2 experience
- Epic experience
- BLS
- ACLS
- Travel experience preferred
Other Details:
- Must show some 1:5 ratio experience in the Work History section for SD or PCU
- Targeted patient ratios are 1:4, but they can be up to 1:5-6
- Pass an online EKG tele competency assessment before starting the assignment
- Must Float to all Stepdown/Advanced Care units
- Local is within 50 miles of home address to contracted facility
For 48-hour contract, OT is paid out after 48 hours

Their application MUST show some 1:5 ratio experience in the Work History section for SD or PCU, otherwise, the managers will not review it. Be sure this is added to the application prior to submitting in order to avoid delay. Also note, ICU experience does not count towards SD/PCU experience at this facility, therefore, you MUST have SD/PCU experience to be considered.

*Unit participates/may participate in team nursing model where RNs, LPNs, and PCTs partner together to care for a group of patients. The goal of this model is to divide the work and not the patients, ultimately improving both the workload and patient care. Nurses may function in either team nursing or primary nursing depending on the needs of the unit.

Must have the following requirements:
- Pass an online EKG tele competency assessment before starting the assignment
- BLS & ACLS – must be able to read and interpret strips and have or be willing to obtain NIH
- Nurses will be fitted for N95 prior to working on the HRRU unit unless PAPR is offered/needed.
- Some level 1 or 2 experience required
- Working with tele/drips/vents
Step-down/advanced care unit that focuses on trauma patients with multi-system injuries. We see a combination of neuro ortho and surgical (mainly abdominal surgeries) patients as our highest populations. Drips that we see frequently are heparin, Cardizem, insulin, and ketamine. We do have the capability to do DKA and amiodarone as well as a few others less common. PCAs and epidurals are commonly seen on our unit as well. Our staff are trained to perform moderate sedation for procedures like chest tube insertion and wound debridement as well.
