I. Major Responsibilities:
- Assists with evaluation, preparation, and after care of patients undergoing cardiac catheterization, invasive vascular, or electrophysiology procedures.
- Prepares, calibrates and operates all equipment used during procedures, including physiologic recorder, x-ray equipment, film processor, and life support equipment.
- Performs quality assurance and maintains related documentation for x-ray equipment, film processor, and lead aprons.
- Monitors documentation related to radiation exposure of HVIL staff.
- Monitors records, processes, and interprets intracardiac pressures & electrocardiographic signals during procedures.
II. Position Qualifications:
License/Certification/Education:
- Required: Associate degree
- Required: Certified Registered Radiology Technologist (RRT)
- Required: Certified in basic life support.
Experience/Skills:
- Required: 5 years experience in special procedures, radiographic imaging or equivalent.
- Required: Experience in advanced life support and surgical techniques.
- Preferred: Previous cardiac catheterization, invasive vascular, and/or electrophysiology laboratory experience is preferred.
