7:00am – 3:30pm, Monday through Friday. Every other weekend and rotating holidays.
Position Purpose:
As a Microbiologist, you will work in a collaborative environment to deliver excellent patient care under the direction of a licensed clinical professional in a clinic or practice environment. A Lab Technologist works to analyze a variety of biological specimens.
What you will do:
- Responsible for performing scientific testing on samples and reporting results to physicians.
- Conducts blood tests for transfusion purposes; may draw blood from patient's finger, ear lobe, or vein observing principles of asepsis to obtain blood samples.
- Develops and maintains cell/tissue cultures for testing purposes, as appropriate; isolates and identifies specimens, using advanced laboratory techniques.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: BS Medical Technology.
- Minimum Experience required: 3 years blood bank experience in a hospital setting.
- Additional Skills: Flexibility to work every other or every third weekend.
- Must be licensed as a Medical Technologist in the state of Florida in Serology and Microbiology. Preferred licensed in all 5 areas. National Certification preferred.
