Job Description: Associate Veterinarian
The Associate Veterinarian will provide humane medical care, emergency treatment, HQHV spay/neuter and other surgical procedures, and husbandry to a variety of shelter and public animals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Complete daily rounds.
- Develop and implement tailored animal health treatment programs.
- Prescribe medicine and monitor administration of drugs by trained staff.
- Perform anesthesia and surgical procedures.
- Follow operational medical protocols based on best practice shelter management and herd maintenance.
- Mentor lower-level veterinary staff.
- Oversee Veterinary Operations and staff in the absence of the Medical Director of the facility.
- Assist Medical Director with employee hire selection, training oversight, performance assessment, coaching, and discipline and termination actions.
