Northumberland County Children & Youth is looking for motivated and dependable individuals with a passion for helping others. We work in close cooperation with other social service agencies, hospitals, mental health facilities, police, courts, schools, and other community resources to assess and assure the safety and well-being of children and ensure that they have the opportunity for healthy development and permanency in a timely manner. Join our team as a County Casework Manager 2 and help lead agency staff in performing a variety of social service and casework duties designed to support children, youth, and families in our community.
This is a professional social service position in which you will oversee Children & Youth social service supervisors, organize and administer department activities, and perform community organizational responsibilities in terms of assessing community needs and resources. Your coordination of children and youth activities with other programs and agencies will rely on a thorough knowledge of applicable federal and state laws. This includes working closely with the overall judicial system, president judge, and juvenile probation office where necessary.
Other duties include preparing annual service plans and budget estimates, representing our agency at regional and statewide meetings, preparing and directing the compilation of reports and correspondence, and overseeing the maintenance of files and records. You will also conduct and facilitate regular meetings, train staff, and evaluate ongoing staff training needs and programs. Additionally, you will act as staff assistant to the children and youth advisory board and make recommendations to Northumberland County commissioners on agency related matters. - Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Four years of experience in public or private social work including two years in a public welfare program, two of which must have been in a supervisory capacity; and a bachelor's degree which includes or is supplemented by 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences.

- This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
