Sentara Health is hiring an experienced Laboratory Manager to work full time to oversee the laboratory at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital and Sentara Independence in Virginia Beach, VA.
Job Requirements:
- Education: Bachelors degree
- Certification: ASCP or AMT Certification
- Experience: 3 years laboratory leadership
Job Description:
- Assume responsibility and accountability for laboratory operations within the facility
- Responsible for the delivery of high quality services that meet or exceed customer expectations
- Analyzes patient data and suggests physician protocol for confirming patient diagnosis; acts as a consultant to pathologists, physicians and other team members; identifies needs and implements training to ensure competency of laboratory staff
- Coordinates the development and implementation of new lab services within the Sentara facility
- Contributes to the success of the organization through achievement of system, hospital and departmental goals and objectives
