The Silberstein Lab is looking for a Research Technician I. The main goal of the laboratory is to combine basic stem cell biology and clinically relevant murine models in order to develop new therapeutic approaches to promote hematopoietic stem cell function in bone marrow failure and to enhance hematopoietic reconstitution after bone marrow transplantation.

Responsibilities
A successful candidate will work as a part of the highly collaborative team and focus on conducting animal experiments which involve stem cell transplantation, fluorescently activated cell sorting/analysis and molecular studies of stem cells/progenitors. They will also share responsibility for murine colony maintenance.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in a biological science and some research experience or laboratory knowledge. Must have scientific knowledge in the area of study and basic laboratory skills. Independent research experience in addition to school lab experience is also necessary.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong interest in stem cell research/bone marrow disorders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly motivated with a high level of initiative, capable of working independently in a teamwork environment.
- Previous experience working with murine models is not essential, but handling the animals daily will be a chief responsibility.
- Some multi-parameter flow cytometry experience (undergraduate research or post-graduation).

The hourly pay range for this position is from $22.21 to $31.61 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
