Job Summary: The Senior Director of RD&E for Bioprocessing and Purification Solutions is responsible for leading a Global RD&E organization and product portfolio the second largest acquisition in Ecolab history. This person will interact closely with divisional marketing, sales, customers, functions and industry experts to proactively identify and successfully execute on innovative, game changing product concepts while maintaining current product lines. The Senior Director will provide leadership on technology advancements, new product and service opportunities, and improvements in operational and organizational productivity. Additionally, they will ensure alignment of team objectives to strategic plans and effectively leverage Ecolab Global RD&E resources to improve overall return on RD&E investment. This position reports to VP of RD&E for Global Life Sciences.

What You Will Do:
- Develop long term differential technology strategy and product roadmaps that incorporate customer requirements and divisional growth objective.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of business financials and makes sound decisions to drive product profitability.
- Lead Innovation Portfolio to meet strategic plan, annual business growth targets, and new products sales metrics.
- Lead and identify strategic technical partnerships for achieving business expansion.
- Develop deep technical customer relationships to support sales efforts.
- Demonstrates the ability to effectively provide leadership and direction to a global multinational team.
- Demonstrates cross functional and global thinking in planning and prioritizing projects and initiatives.
- Advance our position in the industry via thought leadership, industry experience, executional excellence, and operational leadership at an executive level to contribute strategic evolution of the business.
- Influence, coach, and develop leaders to foster a culture of innovation and collaboration.
- Build strong cross-functional relationships through strong communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.
- Executive presentations and explaining the technical strategy of the business to corporate and R&D leaders.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Chemistry or Engineering or a related technical discipline and more than 10 years of related experience.
- 5+ years of significant experience in product development.
- 5+ years experience leading high performing teams in product development.
- 5+ years experience management experience; proven track record of developing people and organizational design.
- 5+ years of significant experience in pharmaceutical market product development.
Preferred Qualifications:
- MS or PhD in a related technical discipline
- Strong communication, leadership presence, and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with key business partners and to represent Ecolab to external audiences at key industry events
- Proven track record of innovation, technology development, New Product / Service launches and leveraging of External Technology in industrial businesses
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively develop an inclusive environment and make sound business decisions.
