This position is responsible for the medical care of the clinic patients as outlined in the collaborative agreement.
Examples of Duties
I. Administration 0%
II. Teaching 5%
- Establish a model of professional cooperation regarding practice responsibilities between family physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners and other learners.
- Partner with Faculty in a learning environment on the treatment of Decatur Family Medicine patients.
- Teach and evaluate residents and other learners.
- Collaborate on research projects as needed.
III. Research 5%
- Participates in clinical and educational research as assigned appropriate for position in support of residents and faculty.
IV. Service (Patient Care) 90%
- Provide clinical patient care.
- To provide services specifically authorized by the collaborative agreement.
- Adhere to the collaboration agreement.
- Work with Faculty physicians and appropriate staff to support the implementation and maintenance of clinical and academic programs.
- Serve on committees as assigned by the Program Director and Medical Director.
- Participate in Center Peer Review and Quality Improvement activities.
- Provide emergency services to patients as needed including those who are identified as having no primary care physician.
Qualifications
- Sensitive to the needs of underrepresented minority populations.
- Possess a current NCCPA certification as a Physician Assistant.
- Graduate of a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education (CAAHEP) Accredited Program.
- Hold a current license in the State of Illinois as a Certified Physician Assistant.
