Job Title: Nurse Manager
Reports To: Director of Nursing
Position Summary:
The Nurse Manager in Addiction Medicine is responsible for the overall management and supervision of nursing staff and patient care within the addiction treatment program. This role involves ensuring that high standards of care are maintained, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and contributing to the development and implementation of treatment protocols and policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and support nursing staff, including recruitment, training, performance evaluations, and professional development.
- Ensure adequate staffing levels and manage schedules to meet patient care needs.
- Oversee the delivery of patient care, ensuring adherence to treatment plans, safety protocols, and best practices in addiction medicine.
- Conduct regular patient assessments and collaborate with the care team to develop individualized care plans.
- Monitor and evaluate the quality of care provided, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, accreditation requirements, and facility policies.
- Assist in the development and implementation of addiction treatment programs and initiatives.
- Contribute to policy development and protocol revisions to enhance patient outcomes and operational efficiency.
- Work closely with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive care for patients.
- Facilitate effective communication between nursing staff, patients, families, and external agencies.
- Manage and oversee the documentation and reporting of patient care activities, including electronic health records (EHR) and other relevant systems.
- Prepare and manage budgets, including ordering supplies and managing resources efficiently.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding addiction treatment, recovery processes, and aftercare planning.
- Address patient and family concerns and provide guidance on navigating the treatment process.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) required.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience with at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory role in addiction medicine or related field.
- Licensure: Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Vermont; additional certifications in addiction nursing (e.g., Certified Addictions Registered Nurse, CARN) preferred.
- Skills: Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills; proficiency in clinical assessment and care planning; knowledge of addiction medicine and treatment modalities.
Working Conditions:
- Full-time position with potential for occasional evenings or weekends based on facility needs.
- May involve exposure to challenging situations related to addiction and mental health.
- Must be willing to commute to our Vergennes location 1-2 times a week.

Pay: $40.00 - $50.00 per hour
